08-04-2023 Tenders are hereby invited for the following: Dispatchable Independent Power Producers Programme for the City of Cape Town. Scope: The City of Cape Town is seeking competitive proposals from potential independent power producers for power generation projects able to supply the City with dispatchable energy (which may include hybrid dispatchable and non dispatchable generation technologies). These projects can be located either within or outside of the City’s boundary. Projects can connect directly to the City grid at pre-defined locations and voltage levels as provided by the City (which will be provided post signature of the NDA). Alternatively, energy can be wheeled across the Eskom grid. Bidders are to ensure all required agreements with Eskom and/or the relevant municipality(ies) are in place prior to signing of the PPA. The City will allow a maximum of 6 months after PPA signing for bidders to reach financial close, unless extended at the sole discretion of the CCT. Contract period: 10 Years from Commercial Operation Date (COD), subject to approval of the Section 33 process. .
