• The Government of Romania has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Safer, Inclusive and Sustainable Schools Project (SISSP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Procurement of classrooms furniture and equipment for 11 schools.
• The Ministry of Education and Research (MoER) through School and University Network Modernization Project Management Unit (SUNMPMU) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for classrooms furniture and equipment to be delivered and installed in the locations provided by the local authorities, for furnishing with furniture and equipment 11 schools included in the Project.
• Bidding will be conducted through national competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” dated July 2016, revised sixth edition March 2025 (“Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
• Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from The Ministry of Education and Research (MoER) through School and University Network Modernization Project Management Unit (SUNMPMU), Oana Cozma, procurement specialist, email: office@umpmrsu.ro and inspect the bidding document during office hours 08:30-16:30 (Monday to Thursday) and 08:30-14:00 (Friday) at the address given below.
• The bidding document in Romanian language may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below. The document may be downloaded from the link that will be submitted to the interested bidders.
• Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 2nd of April 2026, 13:00 hours, Bucharest local time. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids envelopes will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend, at the address below on 2nd of April 2026, 13:00 hours, Bucharest local time.
• All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 250.000,00 Romanian Lei.
• Attention is drawn to the Procurement Regulations requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document.
