Canterbury Regional Council (CRC) has a responsibility to manage flood risk to properties and settlements on the flood plains of the Selwyn River / Waikirikiri by way of the Selwyn /
Waikirikiri River Control Scheme (the Scheme).
As part of a Scheme review, hydraulic modelling is needed to help assess different options to ensure that the Scheme meets the flood protection needs of today and the anticipated needs of the
future.
This contract involves the review of current hydraulic modelling available for the Selwyn / Waikirikiri River Control Scheme, and further developing, verifying and calibrating a hydraulic model
that can be used to run scenarios that feed into investigations of alternatives for the Scheme.
What we need
CRC seeks a provider who has experience with developing and running hydraulic models for river schemes in Canterbury, and who can develop, verify and calibrate the most appropriate model for
the Selwyn / Waikirikiri Scheme.
The provider needs to be able to then use the model they have developed, to investigate specified scenarios and undertake further scenario development and investigation as required.
