SH27 Piako River Bridge Strengthening - NOI (Новая Зеландия - Тендер #67433130)

This Notice of Information (NOI) is to provide project information ahead of the Request for Tender which is intended to be advertised in late September. The contract award date is anticipated to be mid/late November 2025, with the physical works being completed by June 2026.

This NOI is provided as an early indication only of the project scope and will not form part of any future tender documents or contract documents.

Piako River Bridge (BSN270) is located on SH27 and carries traffic over Piako River at RP27/0 approximately 25km southwest of Paeroa. The bridge structure was constructed in 1964 comprising a four-span steel and concrete composite superstructure. The four longitudinal steel beams are at 2.1m centres and are at a skew to the piers and abutments. The deck comprises a 152mm thick reinforced concrete slab with deck thickening local to the tops of longitudinal steel beams.

The Contract Works involves Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) deck strengthening and concrete repairs, including temporary traffic management and scaffold access (or similar methods). See attached tender drawings for further details.

No road closures are required during bridge strengthening, however single lane closures are anticipated during scaffold installation and removal. Additionally, a temporary speed limit of 30km/hr will be required during FRP installation and curing, with no permitted overweight vehicles allowed to travel over the bridge during this activity.

Key points are -
1. The contact works are anticipated to cost in the order of $1,000,000.
2. Contractors must be pre-qualified to “Bridge Construction – Level B (3B)”.
3. The tender will be evaluated by LPC with the following non-price attributes: Relevant Experience, Relevant Skills and Methodology.
