The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) owns and stores humanitarian relief supplies for use in an emergency response. These supplies are dispatched at short notice to countries in the Pacific and (on occasion) Asia during emergency and humanitarian events, at MFAT’s request.

MFAT is currently gathering information on potential solutions for humanitarian relief supply logistics. These include Auckland-based warehouse operations, procurement of supplies on behalf of MFAT, picking and packing of supplies, transportation to designated departure locations, stock management, and handling of all associated documentation, including dangerous goods, customs requirements and declarations.

We are completing an initial scoping and design for the Programme and are potentially looking to approach the market later in the year to seek a partner(s) for the delivery phase.

This RFI is for information only and will not be used to select any suppliers. It will be used to gather market intelligence to inform business planning and the design of our future programme. We appreciate any insights you can share with us to assist us with this important mahi.
