Advance Notice (2) - Design & Build Construction Services for Masterton Maintenance Depot (Новая Зеландия - Тендер #65852132)

This is an Advance Notice to inform suppliers of the anticipated timeline for the upcoming tender for a Masterton Maintenance Depot that will be procured for the Lower North Island Rail Integrated Mobility (LNIRIM) programme.

Further to the earlier Advance Notice issued in August 2024 (GETS Ref 30101916), Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) are notifying suppliers of the anticipated date of release for the Masterton Maintenance Depot Request for Proposal.

GWRC intend to issue the maintenance depot Request for Proposal in July 2025 and execute a contract with the preferred respondent before the end of 2025. The maintenance depot is required to be ready for commissioning with a new train by the end of 2027, with Practical Completion anticipated in early 2028 following successful commissioning.

The scope of works remains as per the advanced notice issued in August 2024: detailed design of the provided concept, building consent application, resource consent application, enabling works, construction and commissioning using one of the new trains. It is anticipated that alternative designs to the building structure and/or finishes may be considered provided that any alternative does not impact the location, layout and maintenance activities to be performed.

Note regarding related procurement: A Request for Proposal for an Engineer to Contract (EtC) for this NZS 3916:2013 contract has been posted on GETS; reference number: 31316140. Please note that the supplier awarded the EtC contract will not be considered for contract award for this Masterton Maintenance Depot Design & Build contract opportunity, either as the lead or as a sub-supplier.
