Kaikoura Green Lane Upgrade and Rail Overpass Bridge Project (Новая Зеландия - Тендер #62981516)

The purpose of this Registration of Interest (ROI) is to notify suppliers of an upcoming Request for Tender for a Design and Build Contractor to construct a new road-over-rail bridge in Kaikoura for the future Ocean Ridge Development. It also intends to provide sufficient time to engage a suitable design partner, as well as gauge market interest in the opportunity.

The scope of the contract deliverables includes, but is not limited to:
1. The Design and Construction of a 12m wide single span bridge around 25m long over the NIMT
2. The Completion of the Detailed Design (currently at Developed Design stage) and Construction of
a. 150m of approach dual lane approach
b. New wastewater and watermain to replace existing services as well as coordination with Chorus and Mainpower for new power and fibre supply
c. Minor stormwater civil works
d. Traffic services, lighting and signage
3. The Construction of the Principal specified design:
o Local rural Intersection upgrade to amend priority and pavement rehab
o The approach road granular pavement and surfacing

Kaikoura District Council (KDC) are looking for an experienced contractor who has experience with building structures over railways and design and construction contracts. The Contractor is to engage the design services and any required peer review support. The designers need experience with building structures over railways and Kiwirail design review process.

Performance, functionality or technical standards to be met:

• NZS3916:2013 – Conditions of contract for building and civil engineering – Design and construct.
• NZTA Bridge Manual
• KiwiRail Engineering Design Standards
• Compliance with relevant Resource and Building Consents
• Compliance with current Health & Safety legislation & best practices

Registration of Interest Close 5pm on the 11th of April 2025
Issue of RFT 24th of April 2025
RFT - Requests for Information Close 5pm Thursday the 3rd of July 2025
RFT Deadline 2pm Friday the 18th of July 2025
Tender Award 1st of August 2025
Instruction to Proceed Separable Portion One - Design 1st of August 2025
Instruction to Proceed Separable Portion Two - Construction Early 2026
