We are seeking flexible, cost-effective solutions to secure early access to a pandemic influenza vaccine, should the World Health Organisation (WHO) declare a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC). Early access is defined as securing a vaccine ahead of widespread availability, allowing for prioritised distribution to key populations within New Zealand. Some options could include advance purchase agreements, pre-order options, or other innovative mechanisms that could guarantee timely access.
Our goal is to identify solutions that will allow for rapid, effective deployment of the vaccine to help mitigate the impacts of an influenza pandemic on New Zealand"s population. We are open to all approaches and solutions to secure access to the vaccine as early as possible. Based on the RFI responses, we will determine the next steps, which may include further procurement processes.
