Grey and Westland District Councils are requesting proposals to jointly procure Waste Services through two individual Waste Minimisation and Management contracts with the aim to have one established and experienced waste management contractor, providing a common level of service across the two districts. This is an opportunity to provide comprehensive waste services in the West Coast and support the districts to provide services that are aligned, efficient, and effective in delivering the contract outcomes.
The Contract services will cover:
• Kerbside collection of domestic general waste, comingled and glass recycling.
• Collection of Public Place Bins.
• Operation of Transfer Stations, Recycling/Resource Centres, and Material Recovery Facilities (six (6) in Grey District and four (4) in Westland District).
• Transport of materials to end markets.
• Operation of McLeans Pit Landfill (Grey District).
Provision has been made for the introduction of an organics service within the term of the contract.

Site visits (proposed over two days)
Day 1: Grey District, including McLean’s Pit Landfill and other sites.
Day 2: Westland District sites. 1 & 2 October 2024
Deadline for Questions 12.00 noon, 10 October 2024
Deadline for us to answer questions 17 October 2024
Deadline for Proposals 12.00 noon, 24 October 2024
