The construction, refurbishment and maintenance of healthcare infrastructure presents opportunities for Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora to build a more equitable, healthier workforce, and grow the capability and capacity of the sector through the delivery of skills development and employment outcomes. Te Whatu Ora can also protect and nurture the environment, consider the impact of climate change and support the Zero Carbon Act through the way we deliver infrastructure projects and the choices we make around design and material selection.

We can’t do this alone. To achieve these broader cultural, social, economic and environmental outcomes, we need to work with our suppliers and the construction sector to do things differently.
