SUPERVISION SERVICES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION OF URBAN ARTERIES DESIGNATED “QUICK WINS” FOR MAPUTO MUNICIPALITY AREA

The Government of Mozambique, represented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, has received funding from the World Bank to prepare the Urban Mobility Project in the Maputo Metropolitan Area (PMUAMM). The PMUAMM aims to improve mobility and accessibility along selected corridors in the Maputo Metropolitan Area (AMM). The project will be implemented in the area encompassing the District of Marracuene; the Municipality of Maputo City; Municipality of Matola City and Municipality of Boane Village, and it intends to apply part of this for the payments under the contract for Consultancy Services concerning the development of the Supervision Services for the Construction and Rehabilitation of Urban Arteries Designated “Quick Wins” for Maputo Municipality. The following is the list of urban arteries included:

• Avenida Samora Machel and Rua do Bagamoyo;
• Avenida da ONU;
• Avenida 24 de Julho, betwen Praça 16 de Junho and Avenida da Zâmbia

The consulting services include, but are not limited to:

Ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with the Detailed Design and the approved budget contained in the contract;

Ensure that the work is carried out within the contractually established deadlines;

Ensure that the work is supervised in accordance with the procedures and rules in force in the country, including the good practices defined in the SATCC rules and PDUL guidelines;

Collect and guarantee the availability of all documentation related to the works, in the continuous file of the contract;

Define the locations of the Work’s signboards;

The Ministry of Transport and Communications now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing their services for the above assignment. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are: (i) overall experience of the company, (ii) experience in Mozambique and similar working environments, and (iii) similar works done.

Consultants will be selected in accordance with of the World Bank"s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” of November 2020;
