Assignment Title: National Civil Engineer

1. The Government of the Republic of Marshall Islands has applied for financing from the World Bank to cover the cost of the RMI Urban Resilience Project (RMIURP) and intends to use part of the proceeds for consulting services.
2. The RMIURP requires a National Civil Engineer in the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) to provide engineering design inputs and construction supervision tasks to support the implementation of the project-funded civil works activities in several locations in Majuro under URP. The Consultant will support the MPWIU in reviewing the detailed project reports, drawings, engineering designs, monitoring, verification, and documentation, helping to ensure compliance to the technical requirements related to civil works planned under the URP. In addition, the National Civil Engineer will support the MPWIU in considering capacity-building initiatives
3. The position will work closely with the MPWIU and PIU staff, and the National Civil Engineer will report to the URP Project Manager acting on behalf of MPWIU. The complete scope of services, including the qualification requirements, are indicated in the assignment"s Terms of Reference (TOR), which can be obtained from the contact details provided below.
4. This consulting assignment is a full-time position at PIU in Majuro. It is expected to start by early September 2024 and last 24 months, with a possibility of extension based on performance.
5. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services. This includes
a. Cover letter addressing the mandatory and desirable qualification requirements listed in the table below and the TOR; and
b. CV with description of experience, including any similar assignments.
