The Government of Malawi has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Skills for a Vibrant Economy (SAVE) Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of Teaching Complex at University of Malawi (UNIMA) in Zomba.

• The University of Malawi now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Construction of Teaching Complex and Associated External Works at UNIMA campus in Zomba. The estimated construction period is 12 months.

• Bidding will be conducted through national competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB), and is open to all eligible Bidders.

• Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from University of Malawi, Procurement and Disposal of Assets Manager, Email: gpahuwa@unima.ac.mw or procurement@unima.ac.mw and inspect the bidding document during office hours from 08.30 Hrs to 16.00 Hrs at the address given below.

• The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee[1] of MK50,000.00. The method of payment will be cash paid to UNIMA Account no. 1124706, National Bank, Zomba Service Centre. The document will be sent by email or collected physically by the bidder.

• Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 15th May 2024. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 15th May 2024 at 10:00 Hrs.

• All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid-Security of MK60,000,000.00. The Bid Security shall be submitted using the Bid Security Form included in Section IV of the Request for Bids (RFB) document.
