ADVERT FOR DATA COLLECTION SUPERVISOR X 3 (NISSA Positions)
INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT: 1 YEAR CONTRACT
The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho through the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports, Culture and Social Development (MoGYSC&SD) has secured credit from the World Bank in the amount equivalent to US$26.5 million toward implementation of Pathways to Sustainable Livelihoods Project (PSLP) for a five (5) year period up to 2027. The Ministry intends to use part of the proceeds of this credit for an individual consultant to act as a data collection supervisor. The consultant shall support the implementation of component 3 of the Project.
The plan is to have three positions of Data Collection Supervisors; one for the Central, Northern and Southern regions. This assignment is critical to ensure overall strengthening of NISSA Data Quality through supervision of NISSA data collection. It focuses on capacitating data collectors on NISSA Form and its administration and importance to ensure that high quality data is collected, synchronized and cleaned from highest integrity of the NISSA Database. It is the main contact for the Ministry to provide feedback on the performance of the Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI). The position also, act as the main liaison between Statistician and IT/MIS team to ensure that Work Packages are uploaded to tablets and all collected data is successfully synchronized to the NISSA Server.

The applicant must have a Master Degree in Economics/ Statistics and / Demography with three to five years working experience in data collection and supervision for large scale surveys such as National Census, Demographic and Health Survey, Household Budget Survey among others
OR
A Degree in Economics /Statistics /and Demography with over 5 years’ experience in data collection supervision and analysis for large scale surveys like national census, Demographic and Health Survey, Household Budget Survey among others
Skills:
The Data collection supervisor reports to the PFU Coordinator, working under the close supervision of NISSA Manager.
The duration of the contract is one year with renewable subject to satisfactory
performance and project needs.
Salaries and benefits are market related. [logistics arrangements, office space, internet services, or transport arrangements…etc. may be provided by the Client, if applicable]
The positions will be based in regionally; in Maseru for Central Region (Maseru Berea Thaba Tseka); in Leribe for Northern Region (Leribe Botha Bothe and Mokhotlong) and in Mohales’ Hoek for Southern Region (Mafeteng Mohale’s Hoek Quthing and Qacha’s Nek) All transport and subsistence for all work-related assignments will be catered for by the MGYSACSD
