Eligibility of Bidders:

Lot 1 Western Works (Kirigu, Kawangware 56, Kawangware Soko and Kibera C&D)
a)
Interested firms must have been in existence and in construction business for over 5 years and will provide certified audited financial statements for the last 3 years.
b)
Participation as contractor, management contractor, or subcontractor, in at least one (1) contract within the last five (5) years, each with a value of at least Kenya Shillings
Two Hundred and Forty Million (KES. 240,000,000), that has been successfully and substantially completed and that are similar to the proposed Works.
c)
Experience in construction of water distribution pipelines and sewers reticulation (diameter 300mm and above)
d)
Availability of cash-flow of KShs 100,000,000.00 (Kenyan Shillings one hundred Million) or equivalent amount in freely convertible currency with a Minimum average annual turnover
of KSHS 240,000,000.00 (Kenyan Shillings two hundred and forty million) or equivalent amount in freely convertible currency over the last 3 years
e)
Experience of one (1) construction contract in developing and emerging countries over the last 10 years in which major Environmental, Social, Health and Safety (ESHS) measures
were carried out satisfactorily in compliance with international standards and in which the ESHS knowledge transfer to a local partner or the ESHS capacity building of the
Employer’s country staff was carried out satisfactorily.
f)
Experience of one (1) contract involving a presence in the country and completed within the last ten (10) years in an area with a similar security risk requiring the
implementation of a security plan as defined by AFD procurement rules.
g)
Signed Statement of Integrity, Eligibility and Environmental and Social Responsibility
Lot 2 Eastern Works (Mji wa Huruma, Matopeni, Mariguini, Kamola and Kiambiu)
Qualifications criteria are as follows:
a)
Interested firms must have been in existence and in construction business for over 5 years and will provide certified audited financial statements for the last 3 years.

Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) has received funds from Agence Française de Développement (“AFD”) towards the cost of CKE1135 – Nairobi Water and
Sanitation Project) and now invites sealed bids from all eligible bidders for works package 4 of the works for the Construction Works for Water and Sanitation in Informal
Settlements in Nairobi in 2 lots;
1. Lot 1: Western Works (Kirigu, Kawangware 56, Kawangware Soko and Kibera C&D) – Pre-Bid
Meeting and Site Visit to be held on 3rd June 2025
2. Lot 2: Eastern Works (Mji wa Huruma, Matopeni, Mariguini, Kamola and Kiambiu) - Pre-Bid Meeting
and Site Visit to be held on 4rd June 2025
All prospective bidders are hereby informed that an advert and a complete set of bidding documents can be downloaded from the AWWDA website: www.awwda.go.ke, and PPIP Portal www.tenders.go.ke, for free.
Bidders who download the bidding document from the website MUST forward their particulars immediately to procurement@awwda.go.ke, for records and any further
clarifications and addenda. The Pre-bid meeting and Site Visit will take place on the dates specified above starting at Athi Water Plaza, Ground Floor Board Room along
Muthaiga North Road thereafter a site visit will be conducted at the project site.
Completed tenders must be delivered to the address below on or before 12:00 pm East African Time on
30th July 2025. Electronic Tenders WILL NOT be permitted.
