Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):
This modification notice concerns the amendment of a contract that was procured in 2017. Following the procurement competition, a contract was entered into with Campbell Catering
Ltd (trading as Aramark Food Services), the successful tenderer, for the provision of catering services. The modification to which this notice relates is to vary the contract with
Aramark Food Services to reduce the licence fee, maintenance fee and clearning fee payable by Aramark Food Services to reflect current levels of demand and reduced staff and student
numbers on campus due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic. A number of small units have been closed due to same. The initial eTenders ID is 109314.
VII.2.2)Reasons for modification

Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:
Due to ongoing uncertainties resulting from the covid 19 pandemic and the move to a working from home/learning from home policy, the numbers attending campus on a daily basis has
significantly reduced/stopped. Certain campus restaurants and cafes have not reopened since the commencement of Covid 19 pandemic making the original assumptions of the contract no
longer accurate and viable as envisaged at contract inception in 2017. In such circumstances, modification to the contract is necessary. In particular, the licence fee, maintenance
fee and cleaning fee payable by the contractor have all reduced to reflect the reduced number of outlets open.
The reduction in footfall on campus and the need to close certain restaurants and cafes due to Covid 19 is an unforeseen event that could not be planned for. The over nature of the
services of the contract has not changed and the value of these modifications do not exceed 50% of the value of the original contract.
