The OSCE Mission to Skopje, under the Fundamental Rights and Social Cohesion cluster, in cooperation with the Commission for Prevention and Protection from Discrimination (CPPD) and the Ombudsperson Institution (OI), seeks to commission targeted and comprehensive analyses that investigates:

• compliance of the OI in North Macedonia with the UN Paris principles for National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) and the OSCE commitments, and
• ii) compliance of the CPPD in North Macedonia with the standards for equality bodies (Directive (EU) 2024/1499 and Directive (EU) 2024/1500 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 May 2024 on standards for equality bodies) and the OSCE commitments.

Both analyses seek to generate detailed, evidence-based knowledge on the legal and practical gaps, underlying causes, and possible way forward, in order to support the development of targeted policy, amendment to the existing legislation that governs both, OI and CPPD functioning, and concrete measures.
