Assignment Title: Consultancy for ICD Mortality and Morbidity Coding Implementation

The Government of Grenada has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the OECS Regional Health Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting services (“the Services”) include:

• Comprehensive training in ICD mortality and morbidity coding.
• Enhance knowledge and skills in ICD-10 morbidity coding of both public and selected private health providers.
• Overview of the upcoming ICD-11 coding system and train in ICD-11 mortality coding.

The contract’s duration is 4 months. The assignment is expected to start in November 2024.

The Central Procurement Unit acting on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Religious Affairs now invites eligible Individual consultant (“Consultant”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services (attach curriculum vitae with description of experience in similar assignments, similar conditions, sample of work engagement, etc.). The criteria for selecting the Consultant are:

Academic Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health information management or a related field.

General Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ICD coding.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering training on ICD coding to healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of ICD-11 and its key features.
• Experience working in a public health setting, preferably within the OECS, is an asset.

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016, revised November 2017 and August 2018 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultant Selection method set out in the Procurement Regulations.
