Technical Experts

General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) of the Republic of Turkey, through the Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF), has obtained financing from the World Bank (“the Bank”) towards the implementation of the Türkiye Climate Resilient Forests Project (IDOP, “the Project”) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. OGM will serve as the main implementing agency for the Project. The overall objective of the Project is to strengthen wildfire and forest resilience against the increasing risks of climate change and to increase institutional capacities for addressing the risk of large damaging wildfires that are rising due to demographic, landscape, and climate changes. The implementation period for the project is 5 years. OGM has established a Project Implementation Unit (PIU) within its administrative structure and manages the project activities in collaboration with all other stakeholders. OGM intends to engage three (3) Technical Experts (individual consultants) under separate contracts to assist the ORKOY activities 3 different regional directorate of forestry. Ensuring that project implementation activities are carried out within the framework of ORKÖY legislation and İDOP loan Grant Guide and are completed on time and identify beneficiaries within the framework of the criteria and methods specified in the guide by carrying out the processes defined in the loan - grant guide for identification studies in forest villages. OGM now invites eligible individuals to indicate their interest in the Technical Experts (individual consultant) assignment and provide the Services described in the related Terms of Reference, by submitting an application including CV highlighting the relevant qualifications and experience. Hiring Methodology

The Texhnical Experts will be selected through the ‘Open Competitive Selection of Individual Consultants’ method in accordance with World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers (November 2020) (Procurement Regulations)”.

Duration and Place of Work

The Technical Experts are expected to commence work in June 2024 with a 6-month contract having a one-month probation period. The contract may be extended subject to the needs of the Client, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance of the consultant. The Technical Experts will work on a full-time basis and will be located in Kahramanmaraş.
