CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR FEASIBILITY STUDY ON FLOATING DEBRIS MANAGEMENT OF THE REGIONAL RUSUMO FALLS HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT (RRFHP)

Request for the Expression of Interest (EOI)
The Republic of Burundi, The Republic of Rwanda, and The United Republic of Tanzania have received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the NELSAP’s Regional Rusumo Falls Hydroelectric Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services.
Regional Rusumo Falls Hydroelectric Project would like to hire qualified and motivated Consultancy Services for Feasibility Study on Floating Debris Management of the Regional Rusumo Falls Hydroelectric Project (RRFHP).
The Rusumo Power Company Limited (RPCL) wants to manage any floating debris during the operation phase of the Regional Rusumo Falls Hydropower Project (RRFHP). In addition to the installed trash rack cleaning machine, Rusumo Power Company Limited (RPCL) would like to hire a consultant to evaluate the possibility of having an alternative system that could supplement it to continuously clean and dispose of floating debris/vegetation, automatically and independently from the trash rack cleaning machine.
The received (EOI) shall be subjected to the evaluation criteria based on general experience, experience on similar assignments and human resources indicating that they are qualified to perform the services by provision of (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, and availability).
The Consultant Firm shall demonstrate capability in providing Technical Advisory services for Feasibility Study on Floating Debris Management in hydropower plants of similar nature and having carried out such work on at least two (2) other assignments
The consultant team should comprise multidisciplinary experts with appropriate qualifications and experience and indicative key team members include (a Team leader, Civil Engineer and Environmental Experts). No individual Bio-data requested at this stage.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
The consultant will be selected in accordance with the Consultant Qualification Selection (CQS) set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (January 2011 edition, Revised July 2014). In case of deadline submission of (COI) fails on the government holidays, the next working day shall be considered as the last day of submission.
