• The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the Construction of Building & Other Facilities at Kombolcha Polytechnic College.
• The Kombolcha Polytechnic College, East Africa Skill Transformation and Regional Integration Project /EASTRIP/now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Construction of Building & Other Facilities from those having experience under construction contracts in the role of prime contractor, JV member, Subcontractor, or management contractor for at least the last five years and having experience in successfully completing similar contracts and meeting other capabilities specified in the qualification criteria. The construction of the building is expected to be completed within 730 calendar days.
• Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using a Request for Bid (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers: Procurement in Investment Project Financing, Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services dated July 2016, Revised November 2017, August 2018 and Nov. 2020. (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
• Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the Kombolcha Polytechnic College (KPC), East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP) and inspect the bidding document during office hours from 8:30AM-12:30 PM and 2:00- 5:00 PM local time from Monday to Friday at the address given below.
• The bidding document in English language may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of ETB 2,000 /ETB Two Thousand / or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be in person or through Kombolcha Polytechnic College bank account given below. The bidding document could be collected from the below address or will be sent by e-mail if potential bidders submit a request along with the Bank advice proving payment of the nonrefundable fee specified above.
• Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 19 May 2023, 10:30 A.M Local Time. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 19 May 2023, at 10:30 A.M Local Time.
• All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of ETB 3,500,000.00 (ETB Three Million, Five Hundred Thousand) or the equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in the form of Bank guarantee issued from commercial banks. In the case of Bank guarantees issued from other countries other than Ethiopian Banks, the bid security should be counter guaranteed by Ethiopian Commercial Banks.
