• The Cooperative Republic of Guyana has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Guyana Strengthening Human Capital Through Education (HCP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Rehabilitation and Construction of Equipment Shed (Essequibo Technical Institute).
• The Ministry of Education now invites sealed quotations from eligible bidders for Rehabilitation and Construction of Equipment Shed (Essequibo Technical Institute). The construction period is expected to be two months from contract signature.
• Bidding will be conducted through national competitive procurement using a Request for Quotation (RFQ) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” Project Financing Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services, Seventh Edition September 2025. (“Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
• The request for quotation document in English may be obtained by interested bidders upon the submission of written letter via e-mail to hcp.procurement@moe.gov.gy . Bidders are required to indicate an e-mail address in their letter, where the bidding package can be sent to the bidders.
• Quotations must be delivered to the address 1 below or before 09:00hrs on Thursday March 05, 2026. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late quotations will be rejected. Quotations will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address 1 below before 09:00hrs on Thursday March 05, 2026.
• All quotations must be accompanied by bid security of USD$2,780.00 or GYD$579,630.00 in the form of Bank Guarantee, Insurance Bond, Manager Cheque or Cashier Cheque.
• In accordance with the Amended Procurement Act dated June 12, 2019, all bidders must be registered as a bidder in the bidder’s registers to participate in procurement proceedings. Please register using the link below:
