1. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of Ethiopia COVID-19 Emergency Response Project Additional Financing and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Procurement of Physical and Microbiological Testing Equipment.

2. The Ethiopian pharmaceutical supply agency (EPSA) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for

Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB)as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Ethiopian Pharmaceuticals Supply Agency, Mr. Tibebu Hailu tibebuh59 @gmail.com and inspect the bidding document during office hours from 8:30AM to 12:30AM and from 1:30PM to 5:30PM from Monday to Thursday and from 8:30AM to 11:30AM and from 1:30PM to 5:30PM Friday.

5. The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Three Hundred Ethiopian Birr. The method of payment will be cash.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 2:00 PM May 11, 2023. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 2:30 PM May 11, 2023, immediately after bid submission deadline.

All Bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security” of for Lot one Ethiopian Birr 158,041.12, Lot two Ethiopian Birr 204,342.79, Lot three Ethiopian Birr 82,484.45, Lot four Ethiopian Birr 99,971.88, Lot five Ethiopian Birr 78,686.73, Lot six Ethiopian Birr 32,501.59, Lot seven Ethiopian Birr 10,547.17 or equivalent convertible currency for all lots separately.

8. Attention is drawn to the Procurement Regulations requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document.
