Description

The Owner, the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine (RDKS), invites proposals from qualified contractors to provide construction services for the repair of the South Hazelton Weir located at Chicago Creek.

The scope of the project includes providing and maintaining a temporary water barrier and completing all work required to isolate the weir repair activities within Chicago Creek, without impacting the operation of the community water system. The scope also includes the repair and construction of the liner at the lower infiltration basin as an optional item. This optional work will be determined based on the evaluation of the infiltration basin conditions during the spring assessment. If authorized, the optional scope will also include providing a temporary water barrier to complete the infiltration basin work without affecting the operation of the community water system.

A mandatory site visit is required to submit a proposal under this RFP. The RDKS will be conducting a site visit with the contractors. The site visit will take place at the site on: May 05th, 2026 starting at 10:30am Pacific Standard Time.
The site (South Hazelton Water Treatment Facility) is located off Highway 16 – Hwy, approximately 2km Southeast of South Hazelton Community on Chicago Creek.
