Description

A SE program may be delivered in person, online through live training or through a combination of both. The proposal must clearly explain how the program will be delivered to participants and what technology will be used.

The SE program will not exceed 26 weeks in length and will address all aspects of business operations including:
• Instructor-Led Training will provide participants with training and learning materials in starting and operating a business, including business plan development.
o Formal instruction and business plan development may be approximately 8-10 weeks; however, a shorter model may be considered.
• Business Implementation will provide support and mentoring with business operations including one-to-one business counselling, coaching and guidance concerning capital and support the needs of the participants related to the implementation of the business. This will include on-site monitoring to ensure successful implementation of the business plan.
o Business Implementation may be approximately 14-16 weeks; however, a shorter model may be considered.
• The combination of Instructor-Led Training and Business Implementation must not exceed 26 weeks.
• At the end of the Self-Employment program, participants are expected to be operating their business on a full-time basis and be self-sufficient. • Ongoing support, guidance and service management during the program and for an added 90 days after the participant completes the SE program.
