This Invitation to Tender is being issued by the Health Organization for the selection of General Contractor for Project E291-00: Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Blusson Condensate Pumps
Relocation and Ventilation Upgrade. It includes the relocation of existing steam condensate pumps from an underground pit to an above-grade location, along with the installation of a new
exhaust fan within the mechanical room. The scope also involves routing a new exterior condensate vent and ventilation ductwork to the building exterior, which will need to be thoughtfully
integrated with the overall architectural appearance of the facility. Itemized price items will be included for the provision of a new VFD for one pump and the replacement of a fire alarm
control device inside of the mechanical room. The project will require detailed phasing and close coordination within a live environment to maintain uninterrupted facility operations and to
minimize impacts on sensitive research and clinical activities throughout the construction period.
The anticipated ready-for-takeover date is November 30, 2026.
A mandatory site visit of the proposed work will take place on March 18, 2026, 10:00 AM PST. Attendance is required for key personnel from each Bidder ( GC and
Mechanical Subcontractor).
