The primary objective of this RFP is to seek a qualified, safety conscious and responsible Respondent who shares the CBE’s commitment to sustainability and will work in partnership with CBE schools to move towards a zero-waste approach in the handling of its solid waste

The CBE is striving for improvements to current waste management practices, including the following:
• Follow the 3Rs hierarchy and first reduce the amount of waste generated at CBE, reuse what can be reused, and recycle materials that can be recycled. The CBE is striving for as little waste to landfill as possible.
• Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of material management to maximize capture and reduce solid waste, while still managing costs.
• Having an integrated waste management program that aligns with the City of Calgary’s as well as CBE"s Waste Reduction Strategy and Sustainability Framework.
