Description

The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) hereby gives notice that it intends to renew the support and maintenance services for the Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) for a one-year term with Oracle Canada ULC of PO BOX 4598 Postal Station A, Toronto, M5W 4Y3.
The value of this contract is approximately CAD $200,000 excluding applicable taxes.
ICBC purchased ZDLRAs in 2021 to support backup, recovery, and Disaster Recovery (DR) requirements for Oracle databases. These appliances were acquired in conjunction with Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer, which serves as ICBC’s main database platform.

ZDLRA offers several unique and significant benefits over alternative backup solutions, including:

• Close integration with Exadata
• Built-in compression and encryption
• Near real-time replication between data centers for disaster recovery purposes.
• ICBC needs continued support and maintenance services for ZDLRA for one year to ensure continued alignment with the existing platform, avoid unnecessary expenditure, provide time for modernization efforts to provide more clarity on further use of Exadata C@C and enable reassessment of ZDLRA options after the renewal period.
