The City’s Mitsubishi UPS units, including 150 kVA, 1-20 kVA UPS, and 300 kVA 9800AD systems, require regular preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operation and reduce the risk of service disruption or equipment failure. Maintaining these systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications supports the stability and availability of City IT infrastructure. Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc. (MEPPI) requires that preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on these systems be performed by technicians who are factory trained and certified specifically on their equipment lines. Computer Environment Solutions (CES) is the sole authorized distributor and service provider for Mitsubishi UPS equipment in Western Canada, a status they have held since 1991. As the OEM‑authorized provider, CES is the only supplier able to perform certified maintenance, diagnostics, component replacement, and firmware updates on the City’s installed systems. CES also provides 24/7/365 emergency support with a maximum four‑hour response time, supporting timely response to any UPS issues that could affect data centre operations. The City previously issued NOI 20‑003 to enter into a sole‑source agreement with CES for maintenance of four Mitsubishi UPS systems; no challenges were received, and the contract was awarded for April 15, 2020 to January 31, 2023.
