The City of Calgary (the “City”) is seeking proposals from qualified architectural firms to act as Coordinating Registered Professional (CRP) and prime consultant for the feasibility study,
planning, design, and delivery of a permanent emergency response station in Yorkville community in Calgary, Alberta.
The successful Proponent will provide full consulting services from feasibility and master planning (pre-design) through design, procurement support, construction administration, and
post-construction with defined decision points and approvals.
The primary objective is the timely delivery of a permanent, fully operational emergency response station that meets the City’s performance, operational, regulatory, and budget
requirements.
In parallel, to meet the service needs of Calgary Fire Department prior to the completion of the permanent station, the Consultant will plan and design and administer the contract of a
temporary emergency response station on site to ensure interim service delivery. Temporary station scope includes pre-design through delivery and is anticipated to be operational before end of
2027. The Consultant will also provide the design and construction administration services to remove the temporary station after transition of operations to the permanent station. The site will
be made ready for future housing opportunities. The Consultant"s work will include coordinating of all required consulting services, architectural design, sustainability consulting, energy
modelling, landscape architecture, and building engineering disciplines. To be considered for this project, the Consultant must be able to be registered with the Alberta Association of
Architects (and associated APEGA and AALA registrations as required for appropriate team members) prior to award.
