The City of Melfort has six parcels of farmland available for lease. The City of Melfort is inviting tenders for one, some, or all six parcels on a per acre cash rental basis. The geographic
location of the six parcels may make leasing only some of the parcels more advantageous depending on the home location of the farm operation. For example, the 22.0 acre parcel adjacent to the
landfill may be most attractive to a farm operation located southeast of the community of Melfort. Tender bids for the lease of one, some, or all of the farmland parcels will be considered.
Please ensure tender bids clearly indicate the farmland parcels of interest and the per acre bid price. The lease period will be from April 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028. Annual rental payments
are to be made in two parts, 50% will be made April 1st prior to the growing season, and the remaining 50% will be due November 1st . Occupancy can be arranged as soon as conveniently possible
once a lease agreement is signed. Further details as to the location of the farmland parcels and the rental conditions may be obtained by contacting the undersigned. For the past four years,
all six farmland parcels have been farmed using zero-tillage practices. Canola was grown in 2022, barley in 2023, canola in 2024, and wheat in 2025.
