Description

This project is a new two-storey 1,683 sqm addition and a 150 sqm renovation to the Quw’utsun Smuneem Elementary School, located on Cowichan IR #1 at 3121 Glenora Road, Duncan, BC.

The addition is of wood framed construction. There are 10 new classrooms, a double-height gymnasium with a heavy-timber roof structure. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems will be newly installed and intergrated with the existing building systems. The renovation to the existing multipurpose room converts the space to a kitchen with associated support rooms.

Site work encompasses grading, landscaping, outdoor learning and play areas, a potential outdoor kitchen canopy, and all associated site servicing and utility connections.
