Description

The project is to design an HVAC system using option 3 from the KC07 HVAC Re-commissioning Study
Investigation and Report (GOC5012421) (see below):
Lab 101, 102 and 104:- Train client regarding control and operation of existing HVAC system.- Set runtime of
the fans based on client requirements, modify existing BAS as required and replace all fan switch labeling
accordingly.- Provide localized ventilation, including provision of a new exhaust fan, for Lab 104.
Lab 105:- Demolish and cap existing ductwork serving Lab 107 and modify remaining ductwork to suit.-
Provide new grille and ductwork, connected to existing exhaust serving adjacent washrooms.- Provide two (2)
new standalone welding exhaust fans equipped with movable exhaust arms.- Train client regarding control
and operation of existing HVAC system.
Lab 107:- Demolish existing infrared heating located over mezzanine.- Demolish existing free cooling and
pressurization unit.- Demolish/modify existing distribution ductwork and controls.- Provide new makeup air
handling unit equipped with cooling and heating.- Provide new exhaust fans to provide and maintain negative
pressurization.- Provide new distribution ductwork and controls accordingly.- Train client regarding control and
operation of existing HVAC system.

A maximum of one representative of each Bidder or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the MANDATORY site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS Project Manager Vassilios Curkowskyj at the security desk of 1 Haanel Drive, Kanata, ON. Site visits will be conducted in small groups.
