This Request for Proposal (“the RFP”) issued by the Town of Coaldale (the “Town”) is an invitation to submit non-binding offers for the provision of One (1) 9’ Sports Field Commercial
Mower for use in Town operations.
The objective of this project is to purchase One (1) 9’ Sports Field Commercial Mower to be used in Town Operations primarily by the Parks and Recreation departments. The Town maintains a
wide array of greenspaces from sports fields and parks to pathways and boulevards. This unit will be the primary mower for our ball diamonds and soccer fields for the Town during the summer
months and will run continuously throughout the five-month season.
The Mower will need to be maneuverable enough to navigate through gates and around fences, trees, park benches and different landscaping obstacles. The cutting decks will be required to float
independently to maintain a consistent cutting pattern while also providing an attractive striping effect to the fields. Most of the cutting will require the Mower to be in a specific location
where our sports fields are however the ease in which the unit can be loaded/unloaded onto a trailer will be considered.
We are also looking at the ease of maintenance for this machine as downtime throughout our limited summer season is a concern. The ability for the operator to keep the decks clean, the ease of
which blades are accessed and any conveniences that minimize the Mower downtime (ie. Air intake blow back) are well regarded. As this unit will be in our fleet for a number of years the
timeliness of warranty and repair work will be weighed as well.
