The National Research Council Canada (NRC) intends to award a contract for the annual certification, adjustment, and tracer gas containment testing of laboratory fume hoods located at NRC’s
Ottawa.
The objective is to engage a service provider with the necessary manufacturer authorization, technical certification, and specialized equipment to perform fume hood testing and adjustments in
accordance with ANSI/CSA Z316.5:20 - Fume Hoods and Associated Exhaust Systems (Class D) standards.
The contract will ensure regulatory compliance, laboratory safety, and consistent performance across all hoods equipped with Phoenix Controls venturi valves. The work includes annual airflow
testing, calibration, face velocity measurements, tracer gas testing on a rotational sample, and submission of digital reports for each building.
