The Gatineau Park and Lac-Leamy Park Beach Supervision Contract includes the provision of specialized beach supervision services. These services must be delivered in compliance with the laws,
regulations, and best practices governing public bathing safety and intervention in natural environments, using equipment with the least environmental impact.
The Contractor must provide the services required to ensure the supervision of these beaches from the first the Friday in June to the second Sunday in September of each year. These services
include:
- supervision of swimmers, rescue operations, administration of first aid, and other duties normally performed by lifeguards in accordance with the requirements of the Quebec Regulation
respecting safety in public bathing areas;
- providing information and welcoming visitors, including disseminating information to swimmers about water quality (latest test results) and when cases of swimmer"s itch occasionally
occur;
- supporting the open water swimming program, managing Canada geese, and monitoring motorized boats.
