Description

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is inviting qualified consultants to provide proposals for a Whistler Valley Bottom Gondola Pre-Feasibility Study (Gondola Pre-Feasibility Study). The RMOW is exploring alternative transportation solutions to reduce passenger vehicle volumes on Highway 99 from Function Junction to Whistler Village. Whistler continues to see an increasing number of passenger vehicles travelling along the Highway 99 corridor, creating congestion and contributing to over half of Whistler’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. While Whistler has a robust local transit service, the RMOW would like to explore complementary alternative transportation solutions. In particular, the RMOW is inviting qualified consultants to submit proposals to conduct a pre-feasibility study for a valley bottom gondola solution.
