In support of the Government of Canada’s Greening Government Strategy, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) mandate is to improve the resilience of its
real-property portfolio. The Department has identified a key requirement for sustainable back up power systems (photovoltaic (PV) solar and certified Battery Energy Storage Systems
(“BESS”)), and upgrade of the electrical system at selected various locations abroad. The initiative is intended to reduce reliance on fossil-fuel generators, strengthen business
continuity, and lower operating costs while adhering to internationally recognised safety standards.
To support DFATD’s critical mandate for resiliency, the contractor’s role will include, but not be limited to, performing site assessments, engineering design, and installation of
sustainable backup power systems—including certified Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar PV, and general electrical systems—at selected Chanceries, Official Residences, and Staff
Quarters. The objective of this task authorization (TA) based contract is to provide a rapid, turnkey, design-build solution that delivers fully commissioned installations at designated sites
before the close of the current fiscal year and beyond.
