The Town of Bridgewater (Town) is inviting proposals from experienced consultants to carry out a final, independent evaluation of the Energize Bridgewater Program. Energize Bridgewater is one of the Town’s most ambitious and innovative initiatives, aiming to help households save energy, cut costs, and improve health, while also lowering community greenhouse gas emissions. Backed by the Town’s $5 million 2019 Smart Cities Challenge win and recipient of the 2024 Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Sustainable Communities Award, the program has built a reputation for pairing climate action with social equity. As Energize Bridgewater moves into its last year of implementation, this evaluation will give the Town and its partners the chance to take stock of what has been achieved, what challenges were faced, and what lessons can guide future action.
