REQUIREMENTS:
AAFC requires a laboratory testing services for BRR testing, ELISA testing and PSTVd analysis, and quantification of soil borne pathogen Verticillium species using qPCR analysis with species
specific primers as well as the services to clean up contaminated advanced lines that will be sent to industry for the purposes of seed multiplication.
Most of these analysis are required by multiple science teams at FRDC in order to conduct research trials on commercial fields with potato seed from the AAFC Benton Ridge Substation according
to regulations enforced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The other tests are crucial to better understand disease pathology and further the resistance and best management
practices research on diseases that are problematic to the Canadian potato industry.
