Description

The National Printing Bureau (NPB) and its associated Heating Plant were constructed between 1949 and 1956 to the designs of noted Canadian architect Ernest Cormier. The NPB is a Classified federal heritage building where all Work will need to comply with Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), and other measures required to respect and protect the Classified heritage designation.

Work to be performed relates to the base building envelope, mechanical and electrical infrastructure, common areas including washrooms, utility rooms, and other rooms located in the common areas, means of egress, accessibility, circulation, and other Work as to be described in the construction drawings and specifications. Where Work occurs in areas currently occupied by assets, materials, or personnel, there will be a requirement to relocate to a place as directed by BGIS. All Work pertains to Base Building only, and does not include Tenant Fit-Up, except for potential work that would be performed as directed by BGIS.

Event Note

Proponents are advised that there will be a Mandatory site visit to be held on the date and times specified within the item 1.4 above. A maximum of two representatives of each Proponent, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the Mandatory site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS Representative at the NPB west entrance, 45 Sacre-Coeur, Gatineau, Québec. Proponents are advised that they must preregister via email to crystal.yan@bgis.com by November 11th, 2025 3PM to be authorized to access the site. Failure to register will result in the Proponents representative being refused access to the site. BGIS will contact all Proponents that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times.
