Description

The Ministry of Attorney General, Court Services Branch, is seeking Punjabi language court interpreters to provide Simultaneous Interpretation services (meaning real-time interpretation rendered almost concurrently with the speaker’s message, ensuring accuracy and continuity with minimal delay) for a Supreme Court criminal jury trial taking place at the New Westminster Law Courts (Supreme Court File 3581:86086), including all related appearances and continuation dates scheduled (the “ Trial”).

The Trial involves up to four accused persons, including individuals in custody, and is scheduled for a series of dates throughout 2025 and 2026. The Services include interpreters attending the Trial in person, operating courtroom assistive audio technology, and providing real-time, high-accuracy interpretation in a team setting.

The six (6) highest scoring Respondents meeting all mandatory requirements and minimum scores, if any, will be ranked in accordance with their total score and will be eligible to proceed to engage in the Contract award finalization processes set out in the RSA.

As Contractors, the top three highest scoring Respondents, will be the “ Lead Interpreters”, whereas as Contractors, the Respondents ranked 4, 5 and 6 will be “ Reserve Interpreters”.

The anticipated contract term is December 1, 2025 – December 1, 2026, with the potential for two (2) one-year extensions to cover future dates related to the Trial.
