Description

The Province has a constitutional obligation under Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as well as a commitment under the Government of Alberta French Policy, to provide education-related documents in both English and French. To meet this obligation, Alberta Education and Childcare ensures that policy, administrative, and communication documents; curriculum and related resources; and provincial assessment materials are available simultaneously in both official languages. To help address increasing volumes, fluctuating timelines and urgent requests, the Ministry augments its internal capacity by contracting qualified translators and translation service providers to support the timely and accurate production and delivery of bilingual materials that meet the diverse and evolving needs of Alberta’s education system.
