This Request for Proposal (RFP) is part of the School District’s commitment to support a range of educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom, including outdoor learning programs and overnight field trips. These activities require safe, reliable, and inclusive transportation to ensure access for all students.
One of the key programs supported by this RFP is transportation to and from the Cheakamus Centre Outdoor School, which offers overnight and experiential learning opportunities for students across the North Vancouver School District. The Cheakamus Centre Outdoor School (the ‘’Outdoor School’’) is located at: 1600 Paradise Valley Rd, Brackendale, BC V0N 1H0

Currently, transportation to the Outdoor School occurs throughout the school year and often involves one-way trips due to the overnight nature of the program. Trips vary in frequency, group size and require coordination with multiple schools across the School District. Transportation providers must be able to offer flexible, responsive service that meets safety, accessibility, and scheduling requirements.

The successful Proponent will be expected to demonstrate the ability to meet the School District’s requirements for flexibility, clear communication, accessibility, and responsiveness. These qualities are especially important when supporting overnight programs and accommodating a variety of trip schedules. In addition to delivering high quality service, the Proponent must also offer competitive pricing and provide evidence of relevant qualifications, including a strong safety record and proven reliability in chartered transportation for school-aged children.
