Description

Within the Calgary Forest Area, Staging camps and Air Tanker Bases are strategically located throughout the forest area. These staging camps and Air Tanker Bases provide housing for seasonal staff as well as providing pre-suppression of resources (Helitack, Unit, Firetack and Air Crew Crews) in a readiness position to respond to initial Wildfire starts and support sustained action within their areas.

The project is for contracted services to provide and deliver potable water and waste water (sewage) removal at Springbank Air Tanker Base, Livingstone Gap Fire Base and Pincher Creek Air Tanker Base; and wastewater (sewage) at Ghost Fire Base, Elbow Fire Base from April to the end of October each year. See Appendix D for map of the Calgary Forest Area and the location of the bases that are requiring the services.

A call down list will be established for the Calgary (North) Area and another established for Crowsnest (South) Area. The frequency of services will depend on the need of each facility. A flat rate for potable water will include trucking, water cost, and any other fees associated with hauling the water to the required location. A flat rate for a vacuum truck will include driver, distance to and from disposal site for sewage, any fees associated with sewage removal. Flat rates for both will be per trip required. Delivery time must be within 24 hours of requested service.

The contractor must provide proof of potable water approval from the Alberta Health Services.

*Multiple Contracts may be awarded under this RFP*. Contract may be awarded to Calgary area (Elbow, Ghost, Springbank Airtanker base) and then Crowsnest Area (Livingstone, GAP, Pincher Creek Airtanker base) if not bidding on the whole contract. Vendors must be based within 120 kilometers of the Calgary area or Crowsnest area.
