Description

Tree planting of approximately 1,011,114 seedlings (excluding overflow planting units) over 735 ha (excluding overflow) within the Rocky Mountain District. There are 46 Planting units across 40 blocks that they vary from straight plants, fill planting and site prep planting.

Planting units are located in the following geographic areas or drainages: Rocky Creek, Kootenay Eastside & Kootenay, Moscow, Bruce and the Flathead.

The contractor is required to complete thaw requests at least 14 days prior to planting (to be approved by the ministry official) and is responsible for transport of seedlings from Hawkeye Holdings Ltd. in Kelowna, BC to the planting site.

The contractor will require at least one refrigerated unit capable of storing 100,000 seedlings. Once thawed, seedlings must be planted within 10 days.

Attendance by the Bidder at the Information Meeting is Mandatory. An information meeting for bidders will be held at 1:00 PM Mountain Standard Time, (12:00 PM Pacific Standard Time) September 4th, 2025, located at BC Timber Sales, Kootenay Business Area, 1902 Theatre Road, Cranbrook, BC. The Bidder (or the Bidder’s representative with a letter of authorization from the Bidder) must attend for the duration of the Information Meeting and must identify himself or herself to the Ministry representative. The meeting will begin promptly at 1:00 PM (MST) and is expected to end at 3:00 PM (MST). To be respectful of all attendees, if the Bidder (or the Bidder’s representative) is more than 5 minutes late they will not be permitted to attend. This meeting will be held as an in-person only meeting at the above address, virtual or call-in options will not be provided.
