Description

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) invites proposals from qualified and experienced Proponents to assist the Regional District and its member municipalities in reviewing and updating its 2005 Solid Waste Management Plan.
The new plan will set the legal framework in how wastes, recycling and waste reduction/diversion is managed as well as to evaluate how our systems are working and to recommend areas of improvement, while meeting regulatory obligations. The sequential 5 R pollution prevention hierarchy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, Residuals Management) will be used as a tool to evaluate and prioritize future improvements. Any recommended changes to RDKB management strategies will consider the implications of such strategies including cost.
