Description

This project is to replace expansion joint sealants along the Kootenay Canal which feeds into the Kootenay Canal Generating Station, located between Castlegar and Nelson in Southeastern British Columbia. The canal side is sloped at 50% and will have to be accessed using equipment, ropes or other means. The work includes removing the existing joint sealant, cleaning the area and placing a new joint sealant. The work will also include minor concrete repair of cracks and spalling. As the work must be completed during outages of the canal, there are two separate windows in 2026 and 2028 during which the work must be completed.
