Description

The Division continues to experience an increase in the number of students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Government of Alberta recently approved planning funds for the Division to undertake further research and feasibility studies related to a proposed Autism Centre of Excellence. Planning work will include the following: ● Results of research related to best practices in facility design and programming; ● Feasibility of up to three possible sites (sites may include new construction and/or renovations to existing facilities); ● Evaluation of the site readiness for the proposed sites; ● Conceptual design that demonstrates programming and site design that incorporates best practices to support the needs of autistic students ● Rough order of magnitude costing to complete the conceptual design at each of the proposed sites.
