Description

Halifax Water is investigating methods to reduce fossil fuel use at the Cowie Hill Road Administration Building, the Herring Cove Wastewater Treatment Facility, the Lake Major Water Supply Plant, the Roach’s Pond Wastewater Pumping Station, and the Dartmouth Cove Wastewater Pumping Station. All locations are currently heated with oil fired boilers using traditional controls that do not modulate boiler water temperature based on outdoor temperature. Halifax Water is interested in evaluating whether adding outdoor reset technology at these facilities may be a cost-effective way to realize significant reductions in fuel oil consumption.
